2020-2-18 Weeds and Soil Considerations
The KATS program held a Weeds and Soil workshop on Feb 18, 2020 from 8am until noon. This half day event mostly took place indoors, at the newly renovated Research and Education building where participants also toured the soils lab.
Topics included:
- How do herbicide MOA's kill weeds
- How resistance occurs in weeds and crops
- Characterizing spacially variable nutrient needs
- The basis of soil test recommendations
- Planning a herbicide program around effective sites of actions
